Long overdue, with other projects as the main focus, we made time to complete our new website. We had the chance to play with some new packages to tie this one together completely as well (more on that next). With the addition of a new graphic designer that brings in a fresh new outlook on BlindRobot, we put together something great. The new website showcases who we, BlindRobot, are as a professional studio offering a multitude of services. Scroll through the website and you will instantly see how hard we focused on our portfolio and clientele.

๐ฆ New Packages
With some time allocated toward exploring new packages, I chose to implement two. While I’m normally not a fan of scroll-jacking, I chose to implement LocomotiveScroll. It encompasses a clean, smooth-scrolling feature that has the ability to tie in perfectly with other packages. This is perfect because we sought out to implement a smoother animation plugin titled GSAP. GSAP allows us to animated each keyframe smoothly with JavaScript. When paired with LocomotiveScroll, we can create beautiful, seamless animations as you scroll through the website.
๐ Smooth Scroll Example
In the video below you can see how the scrolling pairs together with different elements on the page. We have two different columns scrolling at different speeds and are animating text across the page. The text animation is made possible by GSAP and is linked to the scroller. Since the scroller is smooth, it aids in smoothing out the Industries text as it animates across the page.
๐พ Designer / Developer Collaboration
This website required a lot of collaboration between me and the new designer, Heston Godby. We put in tons of hours making sure that we got everything exactly how he wanted it. Everything from the micro-interactions to the animated images, and even making critical decisions on font size/height, and width of content blocks, was all made together.
Working with Heston has been a blessing thus far, and I’m sure we will only continue to make even greater things as we continue to work together.
